Mayhem on Salisbury Plain

Last night, which stretched long into today, was full of interesting experiences. The Summer Solstice celebration at Stonehenge was incredibly tame compared to years past. Blame the Unmanned Drone:

A warning from the authorities to you: if we're watching you from the air, NO SAMBA MUSIC IS ALLOWED. And seriously, folks, no one is allowed to accuse me of paranoia ever again when there are flying objects videotaping you from the sky. Jesus.

In any case, it was still lots of fun when I wasn't freezing my tits off. My enthusiasm is readily apparent:

In other news, I had to teach myself to drive on the wrong side of the road in order to actually get there and back. I would never have thought it possible.

Once there, the visual experience was very interesting. As usual, there were a few people who can't resist a camera. Of course people who beg for photos tend to pose like yuppie scum at some meat-market bar in SoHo expecting--nay, creaming their RTW cotton-poly trousers in anticipation of--flash-saturated, artistically bereft nonsense. But I digress. Voici l'exception qui preuve la règle. These people are awesome.

The other thing I forgot is that the countryside exists. Who knew?

Now to the real stuff:
